Denver - Confluence

Unlike other playparks in Colorado, the Confluence waterpark is rain dependent and can rise 3,000 or more CFS immediately after a storm. The gauge is a long way downstream, so it’s not 100% accurate for these spots.

There is an “official” man made play park with a few small waves/holes near the REI parking lot. We welcome your comments and videos about the park.

Downstream about 1/2 mile is the 20th street wave which is big and powerful at flows above 3,000+-. It has weak/non-existant eddy access.

Downstream another 1/4+- mile, just below a train trestle, is a wave cleverly named the trestle wave. Above, 3,500 it is fast, smooth, awesome, and totally world class. Boaters who can surf, spin, or do any other tricks will enjoy this spot. It has a huge, easily catchable eddy, but at many levels you must get out and take a 50 foot walk up easy ground for each ride. There are rumors about bad water quality at this location. Some say it is near a superfund site. Kayak at your own risk.
