Vail
We've only been to the Vail play hole during the Go Pro Mountain games when the bladder which controls the hole is adjusted several times a day. Under those conditions the hole is marginal or good for expert kayakers. We can't imagine what it is like the rest of the year under "wild" conditions, when the bladder is on automatic pilot and we’ve heard wildly conflicting reports as to what it’s like. One person told us it’s useless. Another told us it is a good beginner/intermediate spot with many people kayaking there. A third person told us it is usable all summer, but the higher the better. He says the best months are May and June. He says that when the water is high all hole tricks are possible, and that there is a small competition every Tuesday evening in May and June.
